Overview
This five-day intensive course is guaranteed to teach you all you need to know to get you started in the yachting industry. You will get a clear overview of back of service, front of house, laundry, crew etiquette, administration and human resources. By the end of the course, you will be able to accurately interpret exactly what your owner or charter guests want by assessing the situation thanks to your training.

1 Day Interior Service

Rough guidelines to the syllabus

Understand and have the ability to apply the following different types of table service:

  • Plated Service – American Service

  • Silver Service – English Service

  • Butler Service – French Service

  • Family Service

  • Synchronized Service

  • Room Service

  • Buffet

  • Beverage Service- Tea/Coffee/Cocktails/Wine and Water

Understand and have the ability to apply the following:

  • Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Service
  • Mise en place

  • Hors d’oeuvres/ Canapés / Appetizers

  • Buffet / Banqueting Service

  • Table setting and decoration
  • Napkin etiquette including how to lay a guest napkin/ how to tidy and how to replace a guest napkin

Laundry

  • Ironing, folding and presenting laundered garments

  • Crew & Guest laundry

  • Correct use and routine maintenance of the washing machine
  • Correct use and routine maintenance of the tumble drier, especially the importance of cleaning the filters
  • Correct use & routine maintenance of the iron
  • Correct way to treat:
    • Linen
    • Cotton
    • Wool
    • Silk
    • Polyester/mixed
    • 1 Day ITA Spirits, Mixology, Wine and Barista training

      Objective

      • Know how to make 3 basic drinks + Variations
      • Will understand the concept of Mixology
      • Will be able to be creative with ingredients
      • Will be able to draw up their own menu
      • Will be trained in speed and efficiency
      • Will have a good understanding of Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila and Whisky
      • Will know how to conduct a tasting
      • This course will be assessed by Practical and Theory and needs a 65% pass rate

      • In depth spirit knowledge: Vodka/gin/Rum/Tequila & Whisky
      • Demonstrating the fundamental elements of a great drink
      • How to read a cocktail recipe

      • Speed and Efficiency Practical – • 2 martinis’ (classics & contemporary)
      • 2 shots drinks (classics & contemporary)
      • 2 long drinks (classic & contemporary)
      • 1 non-alcoholic drinks Tasting –
      • 1 Vodka’s
